Fiona Update

As you can see the latest professional pictures of Fiona have been uploaded. Amazing that an 11-mo-old could wait over an hour in the studio to get her picture taken and not fuss or get dirty. She is quite the gregarious child and makes new friends wherever she goes. She waves, she smiles, she barks, she drools and occasionally graces her adoring public with the word “Dada.” Look how long her hair has grown! Being a girly girl she enjoys brushing it. Plus her brush makes an excellent instrument when playing Cat Proctologist! Fiona has developed quite a sense of humor. One of her favorite jokes, when riding in her car seat, is to call out the word “Poof!” After arriving at their point of destination, Mama smells Fiona and says, “There’s no poop!” Then Fiona laughs and laughs. Another favorite joke is to say “Uh Oh!” and throw any item on the floor. She also has fun trying to lift Mama’s shirt and say “Boof! Boof!” Another exciting activity is to chase the dog and cat. She especially finds it hysterical to throw toys at the dog’s legs to make him jump and to offer Petey cheese crackers and then eat them herself. She has fun dumping the water from Whylee’s water dish onto the floor or onto the cat. Then the dish can be worn as a yarmulke. Mama sings, ‘Put on your yarmulke. Here comes Hanukah!’ and Fiona holds a pink bowl on her head and dances. Aside from antagonizing the animals, her favorite activities include eating, reading her books, playing with toys and odd items from around the house, playing music, listening to music, singing, dancing, and taking a “bubble baff.” Fiona has also increased her vocabulary. “Poof” has evolved into “Poop,” her second favorite word (The first still being “Dada.”) She calls herself “Nuh nuh.” She has mastered the word “Eye” as she pokes her finger into your eye. Fiona has also picked up some sign language – milk, eat and baby. Ever the helpful child, Fiona enjoys picking up the living room by taking all her books off the bookshelf and putting them in her toy box. She helps by turning the TV on and off and hiding the remote control. When Dada is in the kitchen cooking, Fiona also cooks with her own pot and wooden spoon. She helps Mama by micro managing as Mama is making her breakfast bottle. Fiona is the most helpful when sharing Mama and Dada’s food. When well fed and rested, Fiona is a bright, happy and loving child. She gives her Mama lots of hugs and body slams. She loves to be kissed and tickled. Dada is the only one who can coax one of her kisses. She loves on her stuffed puppy by rubbing her head all over him. She rubs her head on Petey and gives him lots of pats. She pets Whylee and tries to rub her head on him to show affection. Of course, the cat is not as forgiving as the dog and often walks away with his tail in the air leaving Fiona with a face full of fuzzy cat butt. Halloween was an exciting time for Fiona. She decided to dress as a monkey this year and went to the LDS ward for ‘trunk or treat.’ She got to see lots of babies dressed up in costumes, eat some candy, feed a Chihuahua (dressed as a bumble bee) cheese crackers, and taste some home made root beer. Lastly, she got to stay up an hour past bedtime to help Dada answer the door and give out candy. She really liked the candy and the Chihuahua. That’s all from Fabulous Fiona land. Here is Fiona playing one of her favorite games. When DaDa goes outside, she will go to the sliding glass door and bang on it to get his attention. Then she likes to chase his finger around on the glass.

Beauty and Brains

We left Fiona alone for a few minutes today to play with her new Lego set. When we returned, we were amazed to find that she had built this. Wow, she not only has the family beauty but she also has the family brains!

These are pictures taken on September 17, 2006 when we took Fiona on her first visit to a park. She had a great time until we put her on the grass, then the fun was all over. The grass made her cry.

Birthday & Christmas Plans

Dear Friends & Family; Family & Friends, Fiona’s first birthday is coming up quickly. As of yet, we haven’t finalized the party plans. If you’re planning on being in Las Vegas or Denver area come Oct. 14th, please let us know so that we may include you. If you’d like to set up a time for a Fiona, Birthday, web chat, please contact me. You don’t need a web cam, but you will need the latest version of Microsoft Instant Messenger installed, updated & running. You will also want to know your screen name, password and be familiar with the software. Don’t wait until the last minuet, as Fiona’s schedule is likely to be booked; we can only have one web session at a time! We have decided to have Christmas at our house this year. Whether in Vegas or Colorado, everyone is invited to attend and everyone is welcome at our house! Fiona has a photo album and enjoys looking at pictures of family and pictures of dogs we’ve found in the junk mail. Feel free to send her any photos of yourselves, so that she is better able to put faces with names and the voices she hears over the phone. Feel free to include dog pictures, as she loves to look at them and pant. It is unnecessary to send gifts for Fiona’s birthday or Christmas, so please don’t feel obligated to do so. Phone calls are a special treat for Fiona, and she would love to hear from you. If you’d like to send her a gift, please note that she already has a coat and Christmas dress for the season, as well as, a 1st birthday party hat. She has no 12 mo or 18 mo toys. If we stay in Vegas, heavy winter items and clothing will only get used Dec. – Feb. If we move to Colorado, then they will get used much more often. So many of you were thoughtful and generous in sending Fiona cute outfits, and I felt so bad that she wasn’t able to wear them! By the time she grew into the winter clothes, summer had arrived! Of course, then she hit a big growth spurt and outgrew the summer ensembles! Crazy little monkey girl! Speaking of monkey girl, I am looking for a monkey costume in the $20 range for Halloween. I don’t get out of the house much; so if any of you sees one, let me know where! Thank you very much for your assistance:)
