This is our first attempt at adding a video on the blog. This is a short film we made from our recent trip to San Diego.

This video is not intended for educational purposes. Rather it is to share Fiona’s first experience at a zoo. We think Fiona is fabulous and hope you do too! We are pleased with her intellectual development and were quite surprised when she spontaneously read the letters ‘E’, ‘I’ and ‘T’ from an “EXIT” sign while we were on vacation. However, as part of childhood development with all homo sapiens, language constructs increase over time. Fiona is only two-years old. “Monkey” is a generalized term she understands. At the zoo, lots of things were “monkeys.” The sea otter was a “swimming puppy dog” and the polar bear was a “hippo.” Currently, Fiona perceives all adults with gray hair as “grandpa” no matter what age they are, whether they are male or female. Please be assured that Fiona’s parents are neither ignorant nor uneducated; they chose to communicate with Fiona in terminology she could comprehend in such a stimulating environment.
